Reducing Emissions & Optimising Energy Efficiency for Long Haul Logistics
Due to their size and weight, long-distance logistics trucks consume significant energy (fuel) and experience considerable wear and tear on their components during operation. Under the global net-zero emissions strategy, those factors will increase operation costs and elevate the logistics industry confronting growing competitive pressures.
Focusing on long-distance logistics trucks, BAMS has tackled this challenge head-on. Leveraging fluid dynamics simulation and analysis, we provided an innovative Vehicle Aero Kit package (external deflector) solution. This solution significantly reduces wind drag, enabling vehicles to conserve energy and operate more efficiently.

With the goal of increasing efficiency, our client had a fairly open scope covering the optimisation of things like powertrain and weight. Upon our advice, the client decided to use our aerodynamic capabilities because of the cost-effective and successful outcomes we can deliver. This explored reducing flow separation, turbulence and utilising the addition of ducted air channels. Through one of our more basic packages this client saw a significant reduction in their drag which resulted in cost savings across the business.
